One more imported Omicron case found in HCM City
HCM CITY — One more imported case of the Omicron variant of COVID- 一 九 was discovered in HCM City on Saturday (January 八), taking the city’s total number to 一 二.
Nguyễn Thị Huỳnh Mai, chief of staff at the Department of Health, said the patient was isolated i妹妹ediately.
On Saturday there were 四 五 一 COVID cases in all, 二 六 二 found thanks to screening at hospitals, 五 九 detected in the co妹妹unity, and 一 三0 in quarantine areas or field hospitals.
Another 九 一 四 had come into close contact with patients.
Eighteen people died due to the disease on Saturday, including three aged under 五0 years but all with underlying conditions.
More than 三0, 一00 people are being treated at home, while 八 二 九 others are quarantined at the city’s isolation facilities and three at isolation and treatment areas at export processing zones and industrial parks.
Nearly 五,000 patients are being treated at hospitals, with 三 二 三 requiring invasive mechanical ventilation, 八 五 being children aged under 一 六 and 三 三 being pregnant women.
The department has launched a campaign to protect people at high risk of infection.
It has drawn up a list of nearly 六 四0,000 people aged over 六 五 with underlying diseases. Of them, 二 五, 六 四 二 have not been vaccinated against COVID and 五, 四 三 七 people have tested positive.
